Every jar of clay that leaves our studio carries a story, and it is only fair that we begin with the story that started it all.
Sreeja, the founder of Sree Studio, spent years building a career in media at Accenture. Life was structured, corporate, and by most definitions, successful. Then came 2021, a year that changed the way most of us looked at our lives. Watching the world pause during the pandemic made Sreeja ask a question many of us asked ourselves during that time: if not now, then when.
By then, she had already stepped away from her corporate role to be a full time homemaker and mother to her two sons. Somewhere in that new rhythm of life, she made a list of things she had always wanted to try. Pottery sat right at the top.
She began searching for a place nearby where she could learn the craft, and once she got her hands on the clay, there was no turning back.
What started as a way to explore a long held curiosity slowly became something deeper. Pottery gave her a sense of joy that was different from anything she had experienced before. It connected her to nature in a way that daily life rarely allows ā the colours of the earth, the textures under her fingers, the shapes that took form with patience and time.
Today, Sree Studio is the result of that leap. Every mug, vase, ashtray, and home decor piece is designed, shaped, photographed, packed, and shipped by Sreeja herself. There is no assembly line here, no large workshop of artisans. It is one person, one wheel, and a lot of heart going into every single piece.
This is why no two pieces from Sree Studio are ever identical. When you hold a Sree Studio piece, you are not just holding ceramic. You are holding a small part of someone's decision to choose passion over predictability.
We often get asked why our pieces have names like Good Vibes Only or Sabr and Shukr instead of plain product codes. The answer is simple. Every piece is inspired by a feeling, a phrase, or a memory ā much like the very decision that led to the birth of this studio.
